I was wondering if it would be a good idea to loosen up all the rockers so springs can rest if your engine was going to sit for a couple of years. Even if it's a hyd. lifter engine. Any thoughts? Rick....

Yes.Seals the cylinders, but do not try to turn it over in this condition. What I have done in the past is set each bank horizontal in a stand and squirt some oil in each plug hole then turn it by hand, replace plugs and back off rockers. Stuff intake/exaust ports with oily rags or papertowels.Then place the whole thing in a large garbage bag.
