Hey, I was wondering what all componets would you need to change over if you wanted to covert from the long style water pump to the shortie. I have a 69 Chevelle that I swaped over to a BB 454 running only the Alternator, water pump and the crank pully. Reason why i want to make this change is because of radiator/ electric fan space to the water pump.

you would have to get a different alt bracket and pulley set. Do a search on ebay they make a low mount alt bracket that looks like it works pretty slick.

I thought I read a post here that a long pump would clear with electric fans on a 69.

yes I read that post also. There using a low profile eletric fan.

Smittyocat, did you mean that I would have to replace the crank pully?

you would need 65-68 BBC pulleys for the crank and water pump, as well as the brackets to mount the alternator on the drivers side of the engine.
