I grew up poor, I did not have the fastest or best cars till later in life and then still did not they where fast but not the best persay. I do listen to music and it does alter moods, A few years back the VA and outside people suggested music therapy for PTSD and it seems to be hit or miss weather it works for some, I find it helps but sometimes I think I get lost and have to find my way back if you understand. All that said some would say most of us here on this board have had a pretty darn good life as it where. Take that for what you will gents.

I married a hot girl 51 years ago, still married. Owned and drove a 72 Heavy Chevy.
Listen to Fleetwood Mac today, If Stevie don't take you back in time and tear you up a bit you must be close to death.
Led Zepplin and Stairway to Heaven ought to do the same thing.

Led Zepplin and stairway. I like the 73 live version where he sings the line about two paths and you still have time to change the road you are on, He then adds "I hope so."

Definitely, I here a song from the late 60s early 70s and it takes me right back to my youth, a certain place, or friends, girls.
We grew up/came of age during the most prolific time for music. JMHO.

My music tastes are pretty much stuck to the mid 60s up into the 70s, with a few 80s scattered about. Will admit there are several late 60s tunes I heard on AFVN radio that put me right back there. AFVN radio being "Armed Forces Vietnam" radio broadcast. The Doors, CCR, Stones, Jimi, Janice Joplin, amongst others. Certain tunes and I'm back with some memories I wish I could forget. Growing up my parents listened to what I recall as "country"......Loretta Lynne, Tex Ritter, Hank Williams Sr., Carl Perkins, and many others that the names escape me right now. Don't seem like I ever hear them at all anymore on the so called country stations.

Hell yeah!!! I listen to 60,70 and some 80s music all the time. I will admit as much as I love my 45s I mostly play from pandora. I have an old phone set up in my shop playing 24/7. And another one at the farm same way. And man sometimes some really good one comes on and I gotta grab a beer and cigar and just go back in time. I agree with what someone here said the 50s were a awesome time, wish I would of been 20 something in the 50s. I’m 59 next month and despite some of the technology I’ve had to use to operate a business in this time, this forum which I love is the extent of my social media and apps.

Cruised around in my 69 Chevelle with my best friends and cute girls listening to AC/DC in the late 70's, wore all the writing off the cassette tape! When I listen to them now it always bring me back to the days of fun with no care in the world. Simpler times

Being bornin the early 50, s i think we probably experience the absolute best of what our beautiful country had to offer . from 1950 to about 1975/ 78 we experienced the best of music cars food technology and life in general. No Pandemics major diseases everybody was working G / M was full speed ahead and life was good . After that things started to change but it was slow starting with the mid 90,s life has been changing so fast you cant adjust for it . The children born now race against the clock the minute they leave their mothers womb . they have no idea what good times family life when mom was home and stress free things were . No matter how we try to emulate that for them the world has changed never to see those days again . i would love to do it all over again but you cant . would i change a few things yes but not many. Unfortunately we only come this way once and its Gods gift if we last to a ripe old age and even get to see your great grand children and thats a joy to behold . Alex

If it wasn't for Vietnam and the political crap I'd vote for the 60's as being the best of times...the cars and the music were 2nd to NONE! That being said, I'd say the 50's were "heaven on earth"! Those of you who didn't experience the 50's just missed out! Oh, and life was sooooo much simpler back then. Also, I'm not a fan of all the computers and such we are addicted to these days. People need to start communicating with each other face to face again. The small town I lived in in the 60's was like "American Grafitti"! Today, you bet I miss those times!
YA! Those 50s and 60s were the best! I also grew up in a smalltown, back then people TALKED to each other. Now they communicate with each other! YA!

Whenever I hear a CCR song on the radio it reminds me of my first car, a 69 Beetle listening to Cosmos Factory on my 8-track and my first date. Dang, I'm old.
