To a time where you maybe you had the sharpest or fastest car ? Maybe Both the car and or the Hotest girl..or you were just popular. Anyone like to go back to that time..? I know you are supposed to look forward but sometimes I miss those time..Seems like you just blink and they are over..Just memories..We have a mall where K-Mart used to be and large parking lot..I will see guys in their cars grouped together as I used to back in the 70's,80's..I get this urge to go get out my Chevelle and drive over and show them how it used to be..

Might be more age appropriate to eat some donuts.
On second thought they are bad for your cholesterol.
Maybe you could just buy some donuts and give them to the young guys hanging out in the mall parking lot. It will give them something to go with their beer. :)

Oddly, I dont reminice (sp? see I cant ecen spell it), but music DEFINTELY can set or reset my mood, or evoke thoughts. I'm a muscian so.....or was anyway.,,,

Sharpest, fastest car, hottest girl, most popular? WTF? You Brad Pitt or something? 😀
RIGHT!? Dang, here's all I gots: I was the only one who shot "expert" in my training platoon. By that time, I was a stoic master of reality and none of that other shit mattered. :( Oh, and popular? Who? Who? Who?

I do have a song that reminds me of my training days, as it served as my respite after heavy lifting. Its the swirling acoustic guitars in a very odd song by the Smiths, Half a Person. Later on in life, being that stoic MOR bastard now SF trained, if I ever ran into Morrissey, I'd call him a sniveling little bitch and pray the punk took a swipe at me so a quick jab would relocate his jaw. Popular someone said? NOT!

YEAH MUSIC!

PEACE!

If it wasn't for Vietnam and the political crap I'd vote for the 60's as being the best of times...the cars and the music were 2nd to NONE! That being said, I'd say the 50's were "heaven on earth"! Those of you who didn't experience the 50's just missed out! Oh, and life was sooooo much simpler back then. Also, I'm not a fan of all the computers and such we are addicted to these days. People need to start communicating with each other face to face again. The small town I lived in in the 60's was like "American Grafitti"! Today, you bet I miss those times!

All the time…

I probably reminisce a bit too much, but I do miss those days.

And no, I didn’t have the hot girl, but my Camaros were pretty quick (‘69 Z & ‘69 SS), but not the fastest. And not really the ‘popular’ guy.

Just had good friends, simple times / simple needs, and didn’t ache as much as now! 🤣

Grew up in the 60's/70's with the great music and my 69 GTO. Much simpler time with not so many gadgets to take you away from your car, your girl and cruising. I have a 60's/70's playlist when I cruise in the SS which takes me back. I married the hottest girl from that era which I met in HS. We've been cruising together for 45 years now. Retired...life is good.

Certain songs or albums takes me back to my youth. Supertramps Crime of the Century or AC/DC's back in black reminds me of a good buddy who cancer claimed a few years ago. We both worked afternoon shift and got off work just before the bar had cut off for off sales, grab a case of beer, jump into his nice 74 F-250 4x4 and beat the crap out of in the bush for a while, then park it, plug one of those albums in the Craig powerplay 8-track, spark up a fatty, have a few beers and groove to the tunage. I had a nice 69 Malibu with an L-79 327 in it at the time but it was more fun beating on his Ford, plus no cops in the bush. ;)

I spent a couple of weeks loading my favorite music into my computer, then uploading it to my iPod. Some 40’s,50’s, 60’s, lots of 70’s, some 80’s. Todays music to me, sucks
That's cuz it ain't music. Music has melody, harmony, and rhythm. You might remember a time when sounds emanating from the system in a bank, nice department store, elevator in a nice hotel, etc. were instrumental music being played on real acoustic instruments by human beings. Kids used to poke fun at so-called "elevator music"; kids now probably wouldn't know what you're talking about.

I'll take listening to vinyl on my old Technics turntable with Pioneer Receiver any day over today's methods of listening to music!
Twice a week that is exactly what I do. I converted my 15x27 shop into a music room after I had my stroke in 2013. I thought that since I can't play the guitar anymore after 40 years (stroke damage to my left side) I'm going to put together the best sounding vintage system I can, so now everything is powered by a 120 watt Pioneer SXD-7000 receiver and my vinyl is spun on a Technics SL-5300 TT, running through vintage Luxman speakers. Those two days a week (Sun&Wed) with a few beers and puffs help me keep what little bit of sanity I have left.

Rock on dudes. :)

deep purple highway star, I don't care if I'm in my camaro, chevelle or my daily driver pontiac vibe, I find myself speeding. jim
I was gonna mention this song. Coming home in my cool 71 Chevelle from seeing my hot girlfriend up north, I got pulled over two times. One landed a speeding ticket and one a warning.

(the Chevelle wasn't so cool or hot)

All the time…. I didn’t have the nicest car, nor the fastest, nor the hottest girl, But there were a lot of good times…. Even though I am still fairly close to several high school buddies, it’s still nice to relive those old times…

I graduated in 1985 ( turn 56 next week), and my music choices were heavily influenced by my older brother…. He took me to my first concert (ZZ Top)…. We also saw AC/DC 3 times ( saw them another time or two with my friends)…

Still my favorite bands, but I often find myself getting a little sad, as my brother passed away 2 years ago…

My kids talked me into getting Spotify, which they now regret since I usually play MY music on road-trips…

playing 70s/80s/90s music brings me back….
I don’t find much modern music I care for…
