I have a 69 SS 396 Chevelle That needs the headlight switch replaced. I picked up the new switch today. What is the proper way to remove and replace the switch or is there a website that has that kind of information.
Thanks,

Thanks John, that really helps me alot.

Oh Lord, don't look to another website.
On your new switch, notice that there is button about 1/8 inch in diameter with a spring under it. This is the knob release button.

Disconnect the + cable from the battery.
Reach up under the dash and feel for the release button. As you can see from your new switch it's on the opposite side of the connector.

Pull the knob all the way out while pressing on the release button. The knob and shaft need to come out as one piece.

Unscrew the retaining nut. Drop the switch back and remove the connector.

Assembly is reverse instructions.

Hopefully I remembered everything. If not somebody will chime in.
