Here is my new rig. 1966 matching numbers 396/360, 4 speed, Buckets, PS/PB, Posi, with vintage aftermarket air (it works). Just picked it up last month.

Cool, at first I thought those sun streaks were custom graphics.

My 70 EC about a month ago on its first trip to a gas station since about 1984. She's a work in progress currently with the drivers door removed.

My 69 SS396.. 454- Th400- 2:87... It needed an interior when I bought it three years ago.. Since then I've updated the suspension with the SC&C Stage three, Spohn Delsphere adjustable rear control arms, front Hellwig sway bar, Lee 14:1 20 pound valve steering box with a 13" Grant steering wheel.. Stock disc/drum brakes with Porterfield shoes and matching pads, stops on the dime! Turbo 400 shifted with a vintage Hurst Autostick I shifter makes manual shifting so much fun!! Stock 15 x 7 Rally wheels painted the factory silver. with 225/70 r15 Cooper tires, I'm thinking on getting the second generation spoked Z-28 wheels.

I'm looking for a 12 bolt 2.73 NON Posi rear end..

1969 olive grey, soon to be red with black hood stripes.
Hopefully by the spring.
Engine info in my signature below.
Looks like new forum has erased some of the sig. It used to say 14.7 seconds.....fun, but not fast......

This a factory color choice? Looks so much better than the boring colors listed on the paint chart.

Not sure if it's a stock color. Bought it two years ago and I saw something when googling called burnished brown, I believe, which is similar.

I had a Burnished Brown 69 Z28 years ago. It was dark chocolate colored with just a bit of metallic in it. Your paint looks nicer than that chocolate brown. Burnished Brown is paint code 61, fwiw.

Here's the '68 I used to own. It was a plain jane drum brake, powerglide car but I could drive it across country. It was a clean car but I didn't want to put much money in it which is why I bought my '69 SS396 El Camino with A/C.

Here are some photos of my '68 SS 396 L34 that I have owned for over 30 years now. I bought this from the original owner back in 1989 when I lived in the once great state of California. I paid 4k for it with around 46k original miles.

It was completely unmolested when I purchased it. It ran and drove pretty good, but the engine needed a rebuild due to the cam lobes being worn down some. It is a factory ermine white color with TH400, factory a/c, remote driver mirror, bench seat and column shift. It came with the 3.07 rear, but now has a 3.55 ratio. The engine and rear end is original to the vehicle. I completely stripped the car down to a bare shell and did a frame on restoration. It retains all original sheetmetal except for the front fenders which had some rust at the lower portions. I replaced them in 1990 with original GM parts that I purchased at the local dealership. The dash pad and door panels are original and are in very good condition. I would like to thank all the Team Chevelle members who have helped me out along the way when I had questions. I am very happy to be a member of this great group of people.

Here's my 70 EC sitting this past Saturday at the local El Karoubah Shriners Benefit Car Show. Good show, lotsa' cars, food and people. I didn't win anything and didn't expect to but there was a 78 EC there and now I have a friend for life with that guy.

Us EC people have to stick together.
