My kids loved them when they were young as "night lights". They would lay in bed and watch them and fall asleep. Now they sleep with their significant others, so I don't have any more lava lamps in the house.

I bought the one pictured above brand new in the 80's, it still works great as you can see in the pictures I took yesterday but I'd like a little change in color. I would like to trade or exchange the bottle or maybe the whole lamp for another color...

I have one in my music room. I love when it is finally warm and I play psychedelic hippie music on the old Pioneer. It’s fun. Mine is purple.

I have 4 of them in various colours in my music room, and also 1 blue sparkle swirly lamp.

P.S. My local Walmart stocks and sells genuine Lava lamps and replacement bulbs.

Are you talking about the electric bulbs or the bottle with the wax in it?

Claude.
P.S: let me know if you're interested in trading colors...

I'm talking about the bottle type with coloured wax inside, with a 25 watt bulb under it. You can get em at Wally world from about 15-25 bux depending on the style you desire.

Mine has a 40W bulb in it... but I think it depends on the overall size of the lamp. Mine measures 16.3 inches high an I know there are smaller ones about 14.5".
As for shipping, as long as it's carefully packed with bubble wrap and lots of extra packing in a large box, and some "fragile" or "handle with care" stickers on the box. it's shouldn't be much of a problem. Carefull packing is the key.

All 4 of mine are the 14.5" variety with the 25 watter in them, but sorry, I don't want to get into shipping lamps across the country.
