Need help. The oil fill tube I got for a 66-67 L79 from classic muscle in NC fits to lousley in the manifold. Don’t think it’s the manifold. It The chrome one for the 66 wi Th the PCV valve fitting. Does anyone know if this is a problem? The engine builder is going to try to expand it or weld on a lip and grind down. Or is there a better option.

Jim,
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the reproduction L79 oil filler tube's all fit the stock intake manifold just like yours. I went through this same problem a few years ago. Return the filler tube and get a refund. Then go on the hunt for a stock/original Chevrolet L79 oil filler tube. They are out there, but they are not cheap. :)

Good luck.

Here is a NOS one for a Vette. You can check the # to see if it is the same. It looks correct but do not know for sure. It is nicer and half the price of others I found. Another option would be to bring it to a muffler shop and have them expand the bottom portion a bit. It may damage the chrome so expand to the area that gets inserted.

I'm thinking take it to a muffler shop and have them swage it out just a bit like they do a pipe, You could mike the hole and tube before you go so you know how far to go with it..
