I truly hope that they throw the book at this punk and any others who continue to practice this ignorant crap. Anyone who thinks the term is cool is an idiot, too, as coal has nothing to do with diesel fuel. Nothing but a bunch of morons.

I live out in the country and for some reason the bicyclists love my road. It's twisty, narrow, with ditches on both sides. We had a kid try to roll coal on a one, hit him, he's in jail, and there's a memorial bicycle mounted on the side of the road now. There's another one 4 miles down another road too.

What’s the term “rolling coal” mean ?
When someone messes with the "tune" on a diesel truck causing over-fueling. This causes the exhaust to billow out black smoke. People think this is cool and that it adds performance.

Amazing how people will take a very expensive truck, throw bad tunes on it, squat it or put stupid wheels on it and lose all of the functionality of a truck. All older diesels will emit some smoke on heavy acceleration but rolling coal is just flat obnoxious.

For the record, i also think putting exhaust stacks in the bed of your truck is stupid, just like the whole "rolling coal" thing is, but its like they go hand in hand. I cant tell you how much i hate the smell of diesel exhaust, i mean, when these guys are fooling with it over and above stock. it fricking stinks sitting in traffic with some asshat in front of you that thinks his truck is cool cause it smokes.
My buddy bought his kid a 6.4 Ferd, he did all sorts of dumb stuff to it, program deletes, and what not, i repeatedly told my buddy he was askin' for trouble. He smoked the engine, and thats when the both of them got an education on how expensive they are. They didnt end up fixing it because it was way more than it was worth.

I despise "rolling coal"...and that's coming from a guy who has three diesels, two of which are "tuned"....

No way in hell will you catch any of that crap coming out of my trucks...
In all the diesels I've had ((1) 7.3 and (2) 6.0 Fords and (2) VW TDI's), all of them had tunes and none ever "rolled coal".

I personally believe these people who think it's "cool" try to emulate Tractor Trailer drivers and they are stupid.
