I have a TH-400 in my Camino. I just got my new kickdown linkage and i can't figure out where it bolts to on the tranny. I also don't know where the vacuum piece on the tranny goes. Any info would be appreciated Thanks.
Hey old 67camino, the Turbo 350's use a kickdown cable with a bracket, all Turbo 400s use a electric solenoid to activate the kickdown. Your supposed to use a switch under the gas pedal that on full throttle, activates the solenoid at the trans. Hope this helps.
Well that would explain it. Is the pedal switch wire up to the connection on the drivers side of the tranny just behind the shift linkage? Also where does the vacuum on the tranny connect to?
Yes, the kickdown is on the drivers side, has a single brass(?) terminal on it. The vacuum line connects from the vacuum modulator on the passenger side to the intake manifold fitting (full vacuum) near the distributor.
