I am replacing the std steering column in a 70 El Camino with a tilt. The tilt column has two less wires on it's harness. It is the same connector, just missing the Key Minder circuit. I don't need the key minder buzzer but I was wondering if not having it connected will cause any other problems....

Anyone ever run into this???

Won't cause any problems until you forget your keys in the ignition and lock your doors.

:-D HAH! I used to do that ALL the time, but now I am "programmed" to take the keys out when I get out. I don't know how many times I have been looking all over for my keys only to find them in my HAND!

I dont like the buzzing noise either PLUS with the ignition key in the OFF position when the buzzer goes on my temp gauge maxes out ??????? Still have not figured it out after many years "not looking to hard".

When I had my original dash in my '68, my key switch burned up. I couldn't find a replacement for a '68 because it's a unique year. I had to modify a '67 switch, which eliminated the key-minder circuit. I had zero problems with it.
