Hey, thanks for checkin out my post. Heres whats up. I used to have a big electrical problem, related to the charging system. We did alot of troubleshooting and it brought us to the old forward lamp harness. So i bought a new one finally. Now i dont know where everything goes. I know where it hooks up to the alternator, praking lights, headlights, voltage regulator. But things like the misc wires and wires that connect up to the horn relay i am not clear on. Does any one know of an online visual explanation or diagram of where everything is supposed to go? PLEASE HELP!!

Thanks in advance.

let me see....

ok, by the drivers side headlight area in the bay, there is a green wire cased in a black cloth like sleeve with a ring terminal connector on it.

next, the horn relay, there are 4 wire. a red and black with the metal clamp down connectors, and then there is the clip connectors, a red and black.. I dont have a visual of which is pos. and which is neg. for the horn relay.
Then there is a black coming out of the connector for the headlamp. and a black coming out of the bundle of wires, both with ring terminals. Do i ground those together?

ok, now on the passenger side headlight area, there is another black (short one) coming out of the bundle, do i just ground that out? it has a ring terminal on it too. then there is 2 wires mixed into a connector. It is like a 16 guage red and black 18 guage with a black foam thing on it and comes out orange on the other side, and those two wires (red and orange) are in a connector together. Is that for the battery?? Well, if so, my battery is in the trunk. now what?

Thanks so much for any help you can give.

The green wire connects to the temperature sender, it should be on the left head.

The horn relay will have a red and a black, fusible link, under one screw lug. You may have additional black wire(s) not part of the forward lamp harness, if you have A/C or power accessories like power seat,power windows, power convertible top. If so they also connect to the screw lugs. There will be three wires with plastic connectors. The connectors are keyed so they only fit in one location each.

The horn relay negative has no wire the metal mounting for the relay is also it's negative/ground.

The black wire with ring terminals, both sides, are ground wires for the lights. They are attached to the core support.

The red is the power feed to the horn relay from the battery. It connects to the junction block, it's black plastic with a single lug that mounts on the core support. The orange, fusible link, also connects to the J-block. It is for the factory optional amp gauge.

With the battery mounted in the trunk you need to get power from the starter battery terminal to the J-block. A #8 wire, from the starter battery terminal to the J-block, should do it. The shorter this wire is the better.
