anyone try Jeg's 2 1/2 inch header back exhaust system. I just order one to replace the 80's era 2 inch exhaust system on my 70. Just curious of the fit. and how it sounds. Jim

I used it on my Camino, Had to modify it a little, but mines lowered about 3 inches and 2 inches longer than the Chevelle, but otherwise its a great deal. I ditched the mufflers and bought Flowmaster 40 series from Ebay. But by the time I did all that, I could of just bought the Flowmaster kit anyways, which comes with an H pipe. But if you plan on using the supplied mufflers, its a great deal IMHO.

I went with the 3" and the flotech warlock's for my 67, finished installing the other day. I will say, I wish they were a little more precise with the tail pipe bends, it hangs slightly lower than my rear diff, sounds mean as hell though. Good for the money in my opinion. JN

i bought one for my 70, but to get it to my liking i had to do a lot of cut and welding, esp the tailpipes
That's the one reason I like to do my own from scratch with the mandrel bends. I installed the Pypes X 2.5 system on my Firebird when my buddy owned the car. Spent an entire day cutting and fitting it, and it still rubbed the pass. tire. On his previous '69 Firebird, I scratch built the system, and it cleared everything, and was hidden way better. I have a box full of 3" aluminized bends waiting for the El Camino. Just have to pick up the straight pipe. Napa sells it locally.
