I know this is not a chevelle but in need some advice im replacing the rear brakes on my jeep cherokee should i get the ceramic or semi-metallic brake pads i wan't the best pads i can get and i've never run the ceramic before are they better or should i get the semi- metallic?

JMHO, if the original ones are ceramiic, reinstall ceramics. The ceramic's are better and usually dust less. Good Luck with your work.

Define "better".

The ones I had (NAPA) had no dust, but they didn't stop as well as semi-metallic.

Well, NAPA has at least 3 grades of pads, which one did you get, the tru-stop, the safety-stop, or the Napa United Premium Pads, which I use everytime.

It makes a difference, remember the saying "You get what you pay for".

Ceramics also have a tendency to squeak a whole lot less, most of the time not at all. Plus, I have found that you get much more life out of the ceramic pads vs. semi-metallic.
