Do you think I could get this fender repaired, or do I need to purchase an after market fender? I live in Hawaii so I would really like to fix it rather than pay the high shipping rates.

Anything is repairable if you find a good metal person. I think you should have it fixed if it's original.

I think that it's too far gone and you'd spend more to repair that then you would purchasing new and shipping to Hawaii.

I agree with wheelhop, it would probably be cheaper to get another one and have it shipped out there. Anything is repairable but sometimes cost of repairing is not the best choice.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I may just get a new one. The body shops here sometimes take advantage of non-Hawaiians.

Does anyone have a damaged fender with this area intact? My buddy says he can weld in that section but it would be very difficult to get the front to look right without that area replaced. I guess I'll keep an eye out for used fenders. Now I think I'd like to keep the original, especially after what I've been reading about remanufactured fenders. Living in Hawaii, I can't afford to pay for shipping twice if something is not right.

if u pay to have it done u would exceed the cost of an aftermarket fender I am sure. If you did it yourself it would cost you nothing!!

That means I would need to learn to weld. That might be hard in my one car garage. We'll see though...

Am I looking at a 68 Fender? I have a set. I'll check the area you need. I'm not sure what the cost would be from Michigan to Hawaii. Give a few minutes.

I have a fender that might work. The front is solid. there is a skimcoat of bondo from a long time ago. if you think it would work out this way vs a new fender, pm me and I'll shoot a picture to you so you can tell me how much of the fender you need. You would just have to cover cost of shipping.
