Since when did we not have the right to complain about a problem we had with a vendor? Are the mods and creators of this forum in bed with OPG and other related vendors?

When three of my threads have been deleted because I was simply sharing my experience about an issue I had with a vendor, I get very upset as it is FREE SPEECH and I have the right to inform people when there is an issue with someone selling garbage parts.

Its by no means vendor bashing. Wouldn't you like to know if someone was getting bad parts that didn't fit and getting absolutely NO SUPPORT from the company that sold it to you?

By the way LevonH, a reply like,

"his thread has no content value and the video is a form of vendor bashing.
Thread locked; attachment deleted."

Does NOT make the situation better and further pisses me off. Sounds like your talking about something other than my thread.

Please feel free to delete this thread like every other FREE SPEECH thread I've made to further line your pockets. What happened to made in the USA? I mean, isn't that what this site is all about? Guess you can't say what is on your mind in a public, or so called, public DISCUSSION FORUM.

...public DISCUSSION FORUM.
Technically, it's a PRIVATELY OWNED discussion forum. One where rules are made by the owner, and we as guests, must follow if we want to remain welcome here.

It's no different than if we were hanging out in someone's garage... you're free to say what you want out on the public street, but in my garage I set the boundaries, and I get to decide if someone is overstepping them.

Steve, I'd like you to PM a link to the video you shared. I'd like to form my own opinion on the subject. As far as Levon or any of the other mods lining their pockets... pretty certain none of them get paid. They volunteer their time and generally make the site a better place for everyone. We all butt heads now and again but we gotta get over it and move on.

first Hitler comparison gets 5 points!!!!

Apparently this guy thinks we spent 15 years building up this site so he can move in and use it to persue his personal dispute with OPG? Good luck with all that.

Steve, I've got an idea: Why don't you start up your own site, spend years building it up, then you can use it to trash whoever you want.

i just did a quick scan of the forums, and couldn't find the vendor review section..

He did the bash, he did the vendor bash, the vendor bash, it was a Chevelle site trash......maybe he thought it was Halloween?

I always try to look before I buy, and if it is a problem, don't buy again. I do agree that items in today's market are not what they are supposed to be, I have bought them.

Honest review would hurt more than a rant, especially if it gets BASH-nish.

Nice Hitler!

Free speech used to be cool....but then I realized it applies to everyone else and now....not so much.

I often ponder - if you handcuff a deaf mute protestor have you violated their rights to free speech?

I cant speak for the thousands upon thousands of other posters here, but I know it pisses me off when someone doesnt read the rules of the site they are and then complains when his threads get deleted for breaking those rules.

Ive been coming here since 2001, signed up in 2004 and at no point has vendor bashing ever been allowed in the 12 years Ive been hanging around.

I think most non-mod people would like to know when there is a problem, but in a calm and rational format. Saying anything negative about a site sponsor will probably get a post deleted though. Kind of sad but that's how it is. More money = less caring.

:noway:Vendor bashing: "I bought such and such a dash piece from my 66 Chevelle from so-and-so vendor. Turns out everything they sell is a piece of crap! those guys are idiots and ripoff artists for selling it for that price, and they lied to me about it too!"

:yes:Helpful dialogue: I'm restoring the dash on my 66 Chevelle. In purchasing the reproduction parts, I've noticed that the quality of the flash chromed plastic is quite inconsistent. Also, when I installed it, the switch holes were not aligned. this is the third part I've tried. I called the vendor and we discussed the matter, but they didn't really have any other ideas. Im stuck because this misalignment meant the headlight switch and ignition switch wouldn't install, due to the reproduction part problem. I dont want to grind the holes in my OEM dash. This seems like a serious defect in the part. Does anyone have any ideas for alternate parts choices?

Only if you strap mittens on their hands. Don't need to wave your arms around to sign. Now if the person is a mime, then definitely.

I recently posted about a 'disappointing' purchase I made from Ground Up. I explained why I wasn't happy. They offered a refund, I think I was polite, they were polite and that was it. Oh, and it wasn't deleted and yes anything you say can and will be used in a court of law... I mean it can be deleted. Like it or not this is not a public street corner where you can say whatever you want. There's things we'd all like to say at times but this isn't the place for it. Not saying that's good or bad, it is what is.

Not the way I would do it. I do not give any weight to whether the vendor is a sponsor here or not. Vendor bashes get removed if I see them. OPG is not on my list as a vendor I like or would use personally and their bashes would still be removed.

Beaux,

Dude you crack me up. :D
