Well, after a year and half of getting this car ready I actually drove my Malibu down the street. It's something else driving a 10 second (allegedly) car on the street. All kinds of thumbs up and lookie-lue's. Awesome!

We would have had the car running but a used fuel pump and electric water pump I had purchased immediately crapped out during the break-in period, so we had to wait until we got the parts shipped in yesterday.

Next stop, full interior. Well, sort of...It's a huge relief.

The combo is:

454 .060 over
GM forged crank, Eagle rods
GMPP alum rectal heads, 2.19/1.88 valves
SRP pistons, 12.4:1 final comp
Lunati solid 259/267, .625/.625, 110 LSA
Crane Gold roller rockers
CSR electric water pump
Vic Jr intake, Holley 950HP carb
Mallory comp 250 pump, comp 500 filter/regulator
MSD 6AL, blaster coil
Th400, Cheetah SCS shifter
Hughes 4000 stall converter, manual/reverse valve body
Ford 9" rear, 4.30 gears, spool
rear disk brakes, BMR sway bar, BMR u/lca's
supercomp headers, ultraflow 12" bullets
12 point cage

should be rockin and rollin next spring....

Congrats, Sean! Glad that you finally got to take her for a spin. I'm sure you're anxious to get to the track. You're on the home stretch. Keep us posted

Thanks, guys. With the wider LSA it's pretty awesome to be able to idle at 800 RPM's. I don't have the inner springs in yet.

Bob, the tracks are all closed up here. They're all usually done around late September or early October. I've got some stuff yet to do to get ready though.

Congrats, a friend of mine has a 10 sec street car (actually 10.06 best to date) He turns LOTS of heads pulling into the local cruises, he usually has a couple of people running over & standing there waiting for him to pull the hood..

Your gonna LOVE it :waving:

I drove the car down to the local chevy dealer to pick up a couple of steering column parts. I felt like Michael Jackson at Disneyland. I had like 15 guys standing around looking at the car. Good stuff! :beers:
