Re: Is there a list of all bellhousings that will work for the big block Chevelle?

Well, It looks like the car gods have shined upon me. I found a 621 this morning for 120 shipped.

IT's got a small chip where the starter goes in about the size of a dime. I can have that welded or just not worry about it. The starter is gonna cover it anyway.

You got it. The above are basically the 3 that will work with the big diameter flywheel (14in, 168 teeth). Be advised that these 3 housings are the full enclosure type.
Of course, there are other housings that will work, BUT, they are earlier housings with an open bottom and most are cast iron (a few from 60-62 cars were alum, but they are extremely expensive).

Small chips, cracks and dings in alum housings are not totally uncommon. Over the years, I've had many welded without any problems. I've even had a couple of them built with weld where chunks were missing and then ground them down and lightly buffed them and lightly blasted them. Looked good.
