It's listed for small battery, lawn mower, motorcycle, etc. Will it work OK for the Chevelle battery, just more time to "top off" the charge???

That charger will work providing the battery isn't dead. However, with any charger, there always is the possibility of overcharging the battery if it doesn't regulate and cycle itself off and on. Some good information here about using a timer if long term storing a car. I went with the Battery Tender Plus trickle charger. Coincidentally I had just finished checking out prices on it and the best delivered price I could find.

There are a few companies that make battery maintainers that cycle on and off as the battery discharges and is fully charged. Sears has one for about $40.00 that works great.
