My 65 Elky wiring is pretty bad. The forward harness connector has a loose connection which prevents starting until you wiggle it. The guages are all aftermarket. The previous owner wired up all the guagues with the same green wire and the original dash harness is all still there, so under the dash is a big mess.

The rear harness is worn out under the driver's side foot well.

The motor is a non-stock TPI with its own set of wires.

I am thinking about re-wiring the whole car.

Have you used the Painless products? Is it really painless? Which model should I use for a 65? Do you have to save all your old connectors, like headlights and stuff?

Does anyone have a good process for doing this without huge hassles?
