Go from the shifter like where the steering wheel is (right beside it) to a floor shifter? How hard is it?
Sorry for my newb questions, new to musclecars
my car is a 85 Grand Prix also......

Pretty easy with an aftermarket shifter like those made by B&M, Hurst and others. These come with a cable that you run through a hole you drill in the floor. The hardest part will be identifying the wiring for the back up lights and neutral safety switch and extending these wires to the new switches on the shifter.
