I have to replace my broken [email protected] Unlmtd (poor quality) fiberglass hood. Does anyone have a picture of the Glasstek 2" cowl style hood for a 65? I would like to see what it looks like before purchasing one. Glasstek does not have a picture catalog.

American sports car makes a good hood for your application. I am using their 4" cowl hood for my 69 and the fit and finish were great. Hood lined up very well on my car. You can see it on my home page ( www.fast69chevelle.com ). Here is the web page: http://www.americansportscar.com

They have a new 2.5" bolt on cowl hood for yours.

Thanks for the quick response!

Brad, Why is the son competing with his father? The VFN hood looks like an excellent quality piece. I like the quality of the underside finish. Although, I do not see that they have a 2" cowl hood. Do you know if the quality of the Glasstek the same?

69bigblock, Your car looks great. Is the underside quality of the American Sports Car hoods comparable to the VFN hoods above? I'm only interested in the underside because of the above link. If they make the bottom look this good, the top has to be perfect. How thick is your hood top skin?

honestly, I don't know why they are. Maybe they rubbed heads one day and broke off. Glastek is a Great quality hood. I have seen them on friends cars. Has been recommened to me by numerous people. Some have put the hoods on the car with no prep work at all. Call Glastek and get some prices from them. They should have what your looking for. I think one of the owners name is Tory, ask for him. Tory was the glass man for VFN and left to open GlasTek

Hey Brian, they look very similar under hood. The same support around the outside of hood. They are not black though. Mine was a greyish white.

Hey Brian,
Here's a link to my friends webpage he has a 64 Chevelle with 2 inch Cowl induction hood from Glasstek. The hood has very strong frame and a nice fit and finish to it.

Hey Brian,
No I wasn't the one who laughed at him. That was my neighbor, I was the bad influence that made him buy the car in the first place.
