hello,
This guy at Wal-Mart stoped me yesterday, and said "hey,if you ever want to sell that car ,let me know" this has happened at least 10 times. I told him I would put him on the list. Then he tells me he used to own this car.He said he has some parts that I might want.He has a 12bolt rear end that "needs gears".Is a core worth this much? How much would it cost to restore a limited slip rear end? Thanks Tony

Well, around here (Ohio) an open diff GM 12 bolt runs $300 (assume you will have to rebuild/sandblast). Gears are not usually the ones you want anyway. I have seen cores (no axles/gears) go for more than $100 at a swap meet.

Gears run $150+, Posi $300+, Check the axles $?? but plan on replacing all bearings/seals anyway. I've seen labor on a rebuild run $300+.

I'd go look and take $100 with you, maybe a short offer might get it below that.
