Considering putting my 454+.030 2465 slugged 049 headed engine back in my car for street strip use.
What would be the best iron intake for this.
I have 2 nice qjets to play with. One a 73 Buick 800 cfm and a 750 Chevrolet.
Engine went 1150s w a complete 282S.
T400 410 gears in my 70 SS396.
W 2455 headers. 3”exhaust h piped to rear of car.
Motor has a performer rpm no air gap and Holley 850 annular vintage carb.
Thinking of making it look stock . And hopefully run same et w qjet and maybe a cam upgrade.
Thanks Chris
Car currently has a 555 running 9.50s
But want to return to street duty.

The 282S cam works very well as does the 294S with some compression. I ran 11.20's last fall with the 282S cam. As for a Iron Q-jet intake they work great, ask Vortecpro. I think if you re-work the plenum area it can really work super as the GM BBC cast intakes had a good runner design. I used many of them back in the 70's with a Holley 800 spread bore carb. I think Mark just made like 530 some hp with a stock one recently.

3955287 was the LS5 intake, are you wanting to stay stock? This was on the hyd. lifter 360 hp engine. I don't think you would get pinched much with that solid lifter cam.
