Is anyone in Iowa interested in a get together. The wife and I were talking and I commented that I see many of us in Iowa. She commented that Boone is pretty central and we have the fairgrounds right in town. Maybe we could put something simple together. :thumbsup:

I'm a little too far away now but, grew up in Boone (qt least from 3rd grade to 9th grade. You lived there long. I remember hanging out at the little speed shop on the west end of town.

Got a lot of stuff going on right now, but would try and make it.
Ok, I'm going to check with the fair office and see about using their grounds, nice open area. Maybe just post for a time in late September and see what happens. Small steps. Maybe open to Chevelle, El Camino, Skylark, Lemans Etc. and variants.

Another place we could check into is Karls Performance in Ankeny-They have been holding Saturday morning cruises and said they may be interested in doing more. I'll email them and see what they say...

Okay, I talked to the gal at the fair board office. Basically anything they have on the schedule is for the large hall, so we could use any of the asphalt and grass area west of the hall bldg. (several acres). There is a covered area with a dozen or so picnic tables we can use also. The fairgrounds is in town and close to restaurants, HyVee, etc. Any thoughts on the 3rd Saturday in Sept.? We can pass the hat for the grounds fee and I'll take care of any shortfall.
If I get some commitments I'll set it up for the 3rd Saturday in Sept. There are rest rooms and trash disposal also I'll provide ice tea and lemonade. If I had one of our nifty banners some have referred to I'd put one up. If we had a 1/2 dozen signs it would pretty well cover all routes. The fee is $150 for all day..... Any takers?

I have a wedding that weekend and the following weekend is the Mid-America show in KS that several of us are going to.
Several of us are headed to Karl's Performance first thing in the morning for the last Cars and Coffee of the summer. I will have my convertible there and Jon will have his convertible. Not sure if any of the other Des Moines Chevelle guys are going...
