I wish this where the case, the lights get brighter and the fuel pump gets louder indicating a true increase in voltage, not just a incorrect gauge.

For starters I've had your typical internally regulated 63 amp altenator on the car for years. Did the conversion wiring as shown on team chevelle. Put a big block in the car and ended up with a smaller bodied "CS" style altenator, mine is 85Amps. Bought a new regulator plug to match the altenator and spliced in accordingly. I didnt exactly change just the regulator. I took the back half off a reman alternator and swapped it with my back half. Which includes the regulator plus other things.I have a CS-144. Bought a new forward harness from M&H with the conversion built in. The alternator connector has just the brown wire (idiot light). I have a big fused 1-foot cable from the alt to the battery. No remote sensing wire since the battery is right there - no horn relay distribution bus like OEM.
Are you saying you replaced the alternator's 'internal' voltage regulator?
