On my '71 SS door panels (and backseat panels) there is white trim that originally had what looks like chrome strips or something on the trim to make it chrome. It's old and since they are original panels, the chrome has has peeled off leaving only white. Is there something I can buy to put on the stripes to restore the chrome, or do I need new door panels? Thanks.

I have the same problem with my 70 Elky SS 396 door panels only the problem is just starting. You, like me, are probably going to have to get new door panels. I dont know of any fix for that metal film to fix it and make it look new. The trim for the seat backs they make new or repro beading for it that you can just replace the old ones.

Film! I couldn't think of the word, was going to say 'seran-wrap like flaky material..' but that would have just been weird.
