Installing door panels

1080 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  SSteve L
Quick question, folks. I'm about to install new door panels in our '71. I got the watershields because that seemed to make sense. Unfortunately, the car I'm working on had no watershields behind the door panels (probably why they need replacing, huh). The question is, how do the watershields mount? do they glue to the backs of the panels or what? THANKS!

I used clear silicone, house window caulk. It stays soft and you can remove it later if you want. I put my sheilds on with this and have had them off a couple times since. When I used to race stock cars we would use this for intake gaskets pan gaskets and even header gaskets. Very cheap and good stuff. And never had a gasket problem because of it. Plus it comes in a big tube you can just leave in your caulking gun.
