I wanted to know if the conversion brackets that I purchased to install the buckets need to be welded in and if so, how? I am a little unsure where those go and what purpose they serve? If anyone can help out, thanks...

the way i did it is this. I bolted the conversion bracket to the inner factory seat bracket then bolted the outside seat bracket to the floor. Then I tack welded the conversion brace to the floor, removed the seat then welded it in.

I agree with Skunkynuggets method. The purpose of these is to provide strength to support the seat especially during hard acceleration, accidents etc.. It distributes the weight and force to the floor braces. You do not want the seat coming loose. If they are bolted just to the floor pan, it will eventually crack, or the bolts can pull through.

Another alternative would be to bold through the floor with a steel backing plate to support the floor and bolts. Welding would be better but if you don't have a welder...
