I saw some info on replacing the switch in the tech archives on this website. I think it even had a picture. There are quite a few steps to go through to get it out. Check out the tech archives and search the list for the ignition switch replacement, it may not be for a 66 camino but it should help.

1.Place key in switch
2.Turn to ACC position
3.Insert paper clip into small hole in cylinder to release it.
4.Remove bezel from switch(screws on)
5.Push switch thru dash panel.
6.Should be able to reach switch from under dash.
7.Remove plug.
8.Reverse steps 1-7...although you won't need the paper clip to re-install the lock cyl.:)
