I've heard about a distributor cap for HEI's that separate the plug wires, left going to left and right going to right. I can't seem to find any info on this. Was this some special hi-performance item, or was the last mushroom I had not the good kind?

I think this is what you're looking for, or try looking in the back ads of a HOT ROD or Car Craft, I have seen ads for them there.
