I have to because of the big dome piston. I usually try to get the positon between 11 and 1 oclock on them. Not sure how much it helps I am sure the burn is better, mine are indexed so the piston doesn't hit the plug.

I dont know how much HP there is

IMO an Autolite AR plug with a cut back strap will make little to no difference

IMO on a std plug maybe a hp or two

It will help if you have issues with dome clearance but fire slots can help that if they can be cut in the dome you have and if the engine is together thats not an option

I do index plug, but running 13.8-1CR Take a red marker and draw a line on the plug back from the ground strap so you can see it, and try to get the line up at 12 o-clock when u screw it in the head. Some will line up some will not. Swap them around until you get as close as possible. Next time you buy plugs get a few boxes more and you have a better chance of getting them all at the same 12 o-clock position. Good luck!

I index on 3 out of 4 engines in my fleet right now. With my turbo combo I swap plugs so often that it's impossible to keep indexing. the other 3 engines are bracket cars and go an entire season on 1 set of plugs so I spend the time to index.

I didn't see the HP show, but I use an index wheel/tool, makes it easy to index the plugs after you do it the first time.

one wheel/tool can do 2 engines. you can take the tool with you to the parts store and go through the plugs and pick out 8 that will work in your car...

what it looks like when your done:
