Since then I had Sean Murphy induction replace my quadrajet carburetor with a Holley... after bolting on the carburetor, the car never started. I chose to take the car to Automotive Excellence Online in Huntington Beach and they verified there was something wrong with the carburetor. After inspecting the carb. they determined the brand new SMI carb had a warped base and cause a massive vacuum leak. As I had originally assumed, the launching troubles likely came from the qjet carb. This was evident when the carb would run fine until the secondaries opened up and would bog, lean pop, hesitate, run, flood and die.

Today I drove the car back from Huntington Beach and it drove great! They did door ding my paint but immediately offered to pay for it (when I showed them the chip). Price was great and overall very impressed. Just in time for some summer cruising!

That's what I was going for Chelkamino!

I did give Sean many opportunities with both the Quadrajet and he even said he put it on his Vette and it "ran flawlessly"... Unfortunately, his Vette is not my Chevelle and when I put a friends Holley on my car, my car ran flawlessly... So I had Sean return the qjet, he charged me a 25% fee, and built me a Holley. That Holley had a warped base and needed to be machined to fix it.

Only heard positives about Sean but in the last few years he's had negative reviews from shops in Huntington Beach... Perhaps he outsourced some work... I went to the shop and he had two new people working there... One guy named Matt... Maybe Sean isn't doing all the builds. Either way, the argument wasn't worth it...
