Quick question... My ignition switch on the column of my 69 Malibu will turn on with or without the keys in the ignition... I don't think it's supposed to do that... my question is, how can I fix that???
Just for clarity, the switch is actually down the column a ways. The lock cylinder is what you're talking about.
It's easy to replace, but can be a pin to get out until you've done it, particularly if its never been out since a the square hole in the pot metal casting is sometimes coverd with some casting flash.
I've never replaced one before... you wouldn't by chance know where I can find some instructions to do this would you? UPDATE: I think I can figure it out... I found an old post on here where someone was having a similar situation to have to swap it out.
