does this swicth also supply the power to the coil when the key is turned? its got a clear type connector with wires and a black type connector with wires. both plug into the switch that connects to the rod that runs up to the gear on the ignition key assembly .if not where does the coil power come from when the key is turned into the on position. ? :confused: / thank you

Yes the ignition switch provides power to the coil. An easy place to check for it is the IGN terminal on the fuse block. However, that terminal is fused so if you don't see 12 volts there is might be a bad fuse.
