I can figure out what the batt, GRD, and SOL are easy (although tracing the wires is proving hard!). What I can't seem to grasp are:

ACC - Accessory, sure, but is it the green wire(s)?
IGN - Ignition, is this for HEI or points?
KEY(-) - ?
KEY(+) - ?

Not sure about wire colors either. The dash harness is a hack job, but salvagable. I'm good with wiring, but the diagrams are trying my patience!

Hey, no staring! Anyway, I have an assembly manual with wiring diagrams. Are they different from the wiring diagram books? Here's what I have thus far:

GND - Black
SOL - Purple and White (neutral switch)
BATT - Red
IGN - Pink (but this will be changed somehow)
ACC - ?
KEY(+) - ?
KEY(-) - ?

Yikes!

I wouldn't try and hook up the switch without a connector. Black is part of the key minder buzzer circuit. The browns are tied to the voltage regulator. The greens are test grounds for the temp idiot light. Red is the 12 volt input. Purple stripe is power to the solenoid. Pink is the dash lights/ignition. Best I can do off the top of my head.

I'm with you on the connector, and I would buy one right away...that is if I could find one! I've checked everywhere for a replacement part, but all they seem to have is the full harness to the tune of about $300. If anyone has a suggestion or a line on one of these "pigtails", I would love to get one.

Or if there is anyone out there is chevelle land that would be willing to pull the dash apart and look at the pin-out? That suggestion will go over like a lead balloon!

Shoot me an email. Spotted a 68 sweep dash harness about an hour ago. It's close to 100 out there but should be able to yank most of it fairly quickly.
Leaving now to yank it before they close. Their price shouldn't be that bad. I'll let you know.

Dang, 45 minutes to the junkyard and back home with a harness. This one is in good shape expect someone cut the turn signal switch off yanking the column. Solder that on, clean up the fuse clips and it's ready to go. The ignition switch connector is there and not broken.
