how many amps does the distributor pull. our race car is wired from power to switch to distributor,is a 10 amp switch big enough? i use 10 ga. wire to do this but i want to make sure the switch can handle it.JIMK

I don't know the exact number. However, a much cleaner way is to run the heavy 10 gage through a relay. Do a seach on HEI wiring or the electric fan threads. This way you are using a smaller gage of wire to the switch.
I belive the switch will handle it. What I don't know is how long it with last before the switch contacts get pitted up and then start acting up. The higger current relay isn't that expensive and should last dang near forever.
