Now the question is, can I get a SBC into it

It is sittin behind a friends house next to the barn. Several months ago he told me he wanted to get rid of it. I want to park the Chevelle for a while so I can take it completely apart and start from the ground up. I just want something to drive. Now, can I take the 383 out of my 'velle and with a crowbar and hammer squeeze it in there for a fun ride while workin' on the 'velle?

Wow, the more I think about this, it sounds more and more freightening!!!

Any thought????

Are you sure it's not a total rust bucket? Those jeeps rusted pretty bad, but if it isn't rusted away, those jeeps ran pretty good with the existing power train.

Wouldn't take much engine in that vehicle for you to decide you need wheelie bars on the street. Man that sounds like a machine guaranteed to make the pulse speed up! Good luck.
