Yesterday went out to a cruise and started a big vibration , I did not noticed it was the fan until I got home . After 8 year the fan fired one of the blades to the floor braking the fan shroud a little , I lucky .

The part number is 3462149 it come out for a Mopar 7 blades fan .I was running a Mopar cooling fan :secret:.lol

I am trying to keep the same clutch type fan but I just need know if you guys are using all metal fan or they are all aluminum blades and metal base like the one I got , or there are some complete with iron base and blades ?

I have a FAL 17" steel fan that fit on the stock clutch. Works great although mine is a SB.

There are a good few all steel fan blades out there, but I didnt locate any performance 7 blade fans all steel. Steel with aluminum blades on a 7 blade platform for a performance app might be out there...who knows.

I wouldnt discount the 6 blade fan though. I ran a rigid 6 blade fan for a while(steel hub and aluminum blades). It was not a clutch fan though, just direct drive. I didnt like all that weight on the waterpump without a clutch to keep rotational speed down at rpm so I switched to a derale flex fan.

Either way...that rigid 6 blad(17 inch) steel hub/aluminum rigid blade fan moved monster air!

So...I wouldnt shy away from a 6 blade fan, and Id be confortable with either a steel or aluminum blade fan.

Another OEM type fan would do the trick too really.

go to a junkyard and start popping hoods until you find a good fan. 3/4 ton and larger pickups and Caprice cop cars are a good source for the real HD clutch fans. just make sure you don't get one from a vehicle with a serpentine belt and reverse rotation water pump. if you don't trust a junkyard part, then note the vehicle you found it in and order a replacement fan for that vehicle.
