A wiring diagram can be found at any of the repop sources. Or you can purchase a service manual for specific year which includes the wiring manual.

The HEI wire is very simple. I bought a repacement wire from Year One (but I think several places carry it) that replaces the resistor wire (cloth covered) that ran from the engine side of the fuse block to the coil.

All you have to do ir remove the bolt on the engine side of the fuse block, use a small screw driver to "push" out the lug of the resistor wire from the plug, insert the new lug into the connector.

The other end has a HEI plug which plugs into your NON-COMPUTER HEI distributor cap.

The yellow wire running to the starter from the coil can be deleted as well.

The 1 wire alt. has been covered in the tech ref section. Another good place for "plug and play conversions" is Mad Enterprises.

There is also a DIY tech ref where the HEI wire is located to look at too.
