My 70 Chevelle is running a full manual reverse pattern th350 with a trans brake, it has about 1000 miles on it. Tonight I was getting on it pretty hard and shifted out of 1st gear at 6000 rpm. It hit 2nd gear for a split second and then went back to first gear. 1st, 3rd and reverse are all working fine still so I made it home. The fluid is full and still looks very clean and not burnt, I didnt see any metal particles in it. Any ideas what broke and ballpark the cost to fix it? I will call the shop that built it tomorrow but I would appreciate any input from you guys.

Thanks, Dan

Thanks for the input. I talked to the guy that built it last night and he said the same thing. Says it will be $400-$600 to fix and upgrade to a better sprag and drum.
