I like the Doors music, But you can keep all the mystical, devil worship, doors to the other side crap. If thats what Jim needed to believe in, to write the songs thats fine. I'm putting on Morrison Hotel right now and cranking up "Peace frog" . Rock on!!!!!!!

Hey! Jim Morrison is alive and well and lives in Oregon (Applegate area) and owns a horse ranch!

(At least according to a guy who is 'selling' a video showing Jim 'morphing' from old Jim to new Jim.)

You can own this video for only $29.95, and, if you order now, he will send you not ONE, but TWO .............

(Seriously, we have a guy in So. Oregon doing exactly this, trying to convince people that Jim took off after Janice J. 'Pizza Heart' and Jimmy 'Purple Haze' died.)

Weird.

I've read about that guy too. He's supposed got some document from the FBI saying it was true. If they say so I guess. :clonk:

Anybody ever see the movie HWY on Google video? It was directed by Jim Morrison while he was attending film school, and he was obviously a muscle car fan. He drives a '67? Shelby Mustang in the whole movie. More importantly for us Chevy folk ;), at around 31:00, there are two kick a** Novas that pass him on the highway. The first is a totally awesome OLD SCHOOL gasser style '64 or '65 Nova with a straight high rise axle and steel wheeled slicks on the rear. The second is a '68 or '69 Nova that also looks to have the steel wheel high rise treatment, but you really can't see too much of the car. He gives it the OK hand signal...Honestly, that segment is the only one worth watching in the whole movie (ie. trainwreck). It's a quick minute or so, but pretty cool, IMHO. Check it out!

I saw one scene of the movie. Never saw the whole thing though. I heard it was based on the song Riders on the Storm. Unless that was another film project of his.

Their interpretation of "Slay a few animals at the crossroads" line in The Soft Parade is completely wrong. It's two seperate lines. The first ,I think, is "You gotta meet me.......at the crossroads" and the second is "Still a few animals........left out in the yard."

They are overlapped. But none the less two completely seperate lines.

it took me about 46 seconds to figure out who ever put this together is an idiot. look....it's show BUSINESS, it's the music BUSINESS.....just like when he used to sing with his back to the audience...he wanted fame, just like most artist's. did he have a dark side? any drug addicts you know that don't? he wrote from books, poetry, and what ever his drug addled mind expierenced, all this satan crap, is just that. by the way, i dig the doors, they were decades ahead of thier time. people were all jacked when stp and nirvana came out, sheesh, jimmy was doing it before these guys were even squirts.....

On the satan note - satan is your inner demons...inner demons are your addictions, warped mind from those addictions and how you proceed in life with those addictions that have lead to a warped mind. So, in that sense....yeah, this guy was flat out posessed.

I think thats what the majority of these folks are relating to when they say they were posessed and such. Its not that MOST actually believe they are the devil incarnate but just a blanket statement about the mans demons (addictions, mental state, etc)

and Hendrix....well....the man was GREAT in the beginning, had his head on straight in the beginning....but then drugs, women and such possessed the man, he lost touch a bit with reality and all after his "fans" pretty much rejected his later music and wanted him to keep playing the same songs over and over again. Posessed by drugs, alcohol, confusion, self doubt, etc....his demons....satan.

And I agree - the guy on the vid is nuts, perhaps posessed by the same demons that posess Rosie ODonnel, Roseanne Bar and other odd ilk with a circular diagram and no real conclusions

Anybody seen the new formation of Ray Manzareck and Robbie Krieger called Riders on the Storm? I don't really know what to say. I guess it's pretty cool that two of them are still touring, but from the videos I've seen it's just not the same band.

Now if Jim was still up and kicking, and John was still part of the group. Then I would think it's pretty kick ass.

All those bands from back then must be running out of money. They are all going on tour again. Well except for the Stones. Keith Richards will probably outlive all of us. With how preserved he is from all the foreign substances and such. :D
