I have an HVLP rig that i generally use on cabinets and other needs for a fine finish in the construction trade.
It is not a cheap unit by far and the best 4 stage turbine at the time i purchased.
It has a cup gun setup and not a gravity feed. I also have every size fluid needles and caps for it.
It is a Graco Fine Finish 9.5
Can this rig give me satisfactory results with automotove paint? Has anyone used a turbine setup? All i see is threads with HVLP guns and compressors.
Just curious if i need more equipment or if what i have is adequate. Thanks.

I painted my car on a Sunday using a turbine setup and not as powerful as yours. I used the slowest reducer I could by as the paint comes out warm so it dries faster. I have been working on my renovating my house and just sold it. I have been neglecting my Chevelle. I need to wet sand it smooth but overall, for the little bit of $ I have in I am happy. The biggest advantage is the low amount of overspray. I am pretty sure I used a 1.4 tip and worked fine.
