Stupid question, but how the heck do I install the aluminum cover that comes with a hurst quarter stick. I can maneuver it over the reverse lockout, but then I can't get it to shift forward and over the front of the base. I've read the instructions included and they're of no help really. I'm sure this is probably the simplest thing you could possibly do but I can't get it on there. I'm still messing around trying to get it on but I'm worried I'll get fed up and end up warping the thing.

Ignore this question, I neglected to read a caption on the instructions saying it actually needs to be trimmed a bit, 5 minutes and some tinsnips and it's on there perfect. Don't really see why they bother sending it out with instructions saying it needs to be trimmed 1/8", why not just have it the correct size =\

Didn't have to trim mine, don't fight it and it'll drop right on sometimes haha.
