Yep, 45 years ago. Technologies have changed since then, and I just kept up with it.

I did, but just stick arc welding which I could never master.

Bet you were like me, all we had were the Lincoln arc welders and they were sh***y welders IMO. My 3 in 1 plasma cutter has an arc welder built in it and man does it arc weld nice. Sold my Lincoln right after that and said, bye bye.

I feel like I'm getting a handle on butt welds, be it 2 pieces together or on a corner joint.

Still having trouble with tacks, lap joints, and fillet welds.

Looks way better than my Tig welds.
