I was pulling parts off the 454 today and the whole time I thought it was a Gen 6 block. I pulled it from a 99 chevy 3500 suburban.

I was looking at the #'s on the block, and in the back side in front of the flywheel it says MK H-5... So im thinking it a GEN 5 block??

^ correct, except that over-the-counter crate Gen 6's have provisions for a mechanical fuel pump.

That pic is of a Gen VI block, timing cover is cast and has 6 bolts. If you are lucky, it has the fuel pump boss machined too. My 95 Gen VI block has the boss machined - some early Gen VI's did have the boss cut, if it was a marine block or a few commercial motors with carbs.
