Are you working with a rechromed part or an original? Most of the rechroming shops spray a urethane clearcoat over the plated parts, so you can get away with using laquer thinner for cleanup. Just try dampening a small spot on a thin rag with some laquer thinner, and lightly rub on the overspray. If you're working with an original part, the chrome finish will probably not be very durable and will likely come off. Good luck!

Test in a small inconspicous area first.....

A Q-tip soaked in finger nail polish remover(acetone).

Its original and WAS in really good shape. I tried laquer thinner and it started to take the chrome off. I will go get some acetone and let you know how that goes. I was thinking maybe a light plastic polish might work???

Thanks for the ideasideas
