How to check u joints

Any info on how to check my u joints to see if they are gone. the car is up on jack stands. Thanks to all......

Thanks Phil, I will do some checking today and find out. The wheels were chucking when rolled.I put it in the air and the chucking is gone. I,m checking the rear end for the problem also. I prabably should chage the u joints and have the shaft balanced. For piece of mind. Thanks Errol
