Mike69ss,
The bulb is located in a socket on the very top of the radio with a Tan wire. You will have to remove the top dash pad to gain accsess. I beleive the bulb # is 1895 not sure thou. Hope this helps. Jim

Thanks,

That was easy once I knew what to do. Bulb reads 189? then SA5 under. I can't make out the last digit in the part number could be 1893 or 1895 or 1898. I'll check at the parts counter to make sure I get the proper bulb

I don't care what the bulb or anyone else says, if it's truly a 1970 model year AM/pushbutton radio, it originally had a type 293 globular bayonet-base bulb. These 293's are all but obsolete, SO go into a respectable auto parts store and purchase a type 57 bulb. It will fit/function just as good and should be readily available.
