My uncle has a black on black 1967 chevelle 327-350 horse 4-speed car he bought new. All original. I would love to have it but it is not for sale. I am just curious about how many were built?

Chevy produced 4048 L79 Chevelles for 1967, advertising them as 325 horse. I'd be happy with about 4 of them but I'd be lucky to find 1 today. I recall one in the For Sale section here within the last 2 years. It was a Marina Blue Malibu sport coupe, complete with the original black California plates. California? They would come with the a.i.r. system (smog pump) which would have a different engine code. The pump would cost 5-8 h.p.
Your uncle has an original unmolested L79? Nice!!! Now that is hard to find! Lean on him and never let him forget that you are interested. My aunt bought an orginal 1967 Malibu sport coupe with an L22 (250 c.i.d. six, oh well). I got the car when she died back in '85. Today the mileage stands around 40,000 or so.
What a nice find you've got a line on. Be persistant. If you don't want it...
